I have just completed my sixth week of small business ownership. It has been a wild ride. Hiring staff, training staff, working through processes, meeting customers, understanding customer needs, all the while the business is moving at full speed. We have had some very educational moments and some ah-ha moments.
I am grateful for my staff. These past few weeks have been a whirlwind. Thank you for your dedication, your hard work, and your ability to teach me what you know.
I am grateful for our clients. Your patience is so appreciated. I know we have put you in a difficult situation and our focus is on you. We want to provide the best embroidery in a very timely matter.
I am grateful for my family. They are helping and supporting me. The come in on their days off to lend a hand. They are understanding of the hours I am dedicating to Mile High Embroidery. My family means so much to me and the reason I do what I do.
We are diligently working on improving communication, and part of the communication is our order entry process which will include a proof. We will no longer put a job in production without proof approval. Ultimately, this step will help all of us in getting excellent product to our clients. Plus, we may ask for clarification when we enter a job. We have plans to roll over to new software which will provide a proof and an portal to see, in real time, where your job is in the process. Watch for that exciting announcement.
As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, this has been a lesson of patience. I am working on the practice of patience.
